Set of 5 postcards "Chahai".

茶海 chá hǎi literally means “tea ocean” — what a beautiful and fitting name! A relatively new addition to the tea table, the chahai is steadily gaining popularity. After steeping tea in a gaiwan or teapot, the tea liquor is not poured directly into the teacups but first into the chahai. This ensures that each guest receives the same tea. For this reason, the chahai is also called 公道杯 gōng dào bēi (“fairness cup”).
