Teapot Shapes I - Set of 5 - Tea Culture On Postcards
€13.50
Set of 5 postcards "Teapot Shapes I".
Teapots are an important part of a tea session. Those small Yixing teapots are especially charming. Here are six classic Yixing teapot shapes.
- Shuiping – “water level” shape
- Shipiao – “stone ladle” shape
- Xishi – a round shape named after one of China’s Four Great Beauties. The shape is said to be inspired by the female form.
- Longdan – “dragon egg,” an elongated version of the Xishi teapot shape
- Lixing – pear-shaped
- Dezhong – the “gentleman” among teapots, inspired by the cylindrical shape of a bell
Mixing and matching with my other prints is possible.
